EDUCATIONAL TALK ABOUT CIRCULAR FASHION
On 21st May, 2025, our S5 students participated in a talk about fast fashion and its impact on the environment hosted by Redress. The speaker shared that fashion industry greatly contributes to the climate crisis and explained that curbing fashion’s carbon footprint is an urgent matter. Our students learnt about circular fashion and ways to change their relationships with clothing.
Throughout the event, students were encouraged to share their thoughts and opinions about the matter and to participate in discussions about the environmental impact of their clothing choices. They also learnt practical strategies of contributing to circular economy such as organising clothes swaps, buying secondhand and repairing their clothes instead of throwing them. This event not only educated the students about circular fashion but also promoted a sense of community and collaboration in striving for a more sustainable future.
At the end of the talk, two students, Nathaly Cheng (5A) and Sammi Lee (5B), shared their experience of participating in the Redress Student Ambassador Programme, which was held earlier this year. They loved their experience doing the fashion show and setting up booths where people learned how to style old clothes in new ways.
Our students will certainly join more events organised by Redress!
