S.5 Life-wide Learning Day (1): Perseverance - Leadership Event
On the second Life-wide Learning day, our S5 students took part in a dynamic leadership event organised by the Chatteris Educational Foundation.
Through collaborative team challenges, students polished their critical leadership skills, including effective communication, strategic thinking, and group coordination. The event featured interactive activities such as a reaction-based challenge and a trust-building task performed in pairs with blindfolds, emphasising the importance of clear verbal guidance and mutual support. The highlight of the event was to challenge teams to construct bridges using only spaghetti and marshmallows to support an egg. This hands-on exercise demanded innovation, resilience, cooperation and problem-solving skills as students tested designs and refined their approaches.
Throughout the activities, students practised English in an authentic, enjoyable context while developing essential leadership competencies. The event successfully combined fun with learning, helping students build valuable skills for their future.
